Important Reminders for Upcoming Fencing Season

The end of the season is upon us, and this is to remind you all of a few important dates/deadlines to note before the beginning of summer break for most and going into next season. Please review the forms under the Resources tab as these will help you formulate your club’s plans for the next fencing season. These have been created to make it easier to track and standardize the process for all involved.

  • A reminder about the AFA Summer Camp happening August 20-24th in Calgary, there is plenty of space and we are looking to secure coaches sooner than later, so please do your best to  register as soon as possible so we can announce the number of coaches we will need and finalize venues, workshops, and meals.
  • A letter of intent to host the Provincials in the new season must be submitted to the AFA by July 1st, 2018. (This letter must include the proposed dates, venue, and tentative fencing schedules). Decision to be made by BOD July 15th.
  • Information for AFA ranked circuit tournaments must be submitted by midnight of August 15, 2018. Clubs must submit dates, tentative fencing schedule, and location of tournament to the AFA, for ALL tournaments the club plans to host in the 2018/19 season. Final schedule will be posted August 16th on the AFA website and sent to CFF.
  • A calendar of events (camps, clinics, demos, open houses…. that the club intends to host in 2018/19) for the new season must be submitted to the AFA before September 1st.

Enjoy the summer!
